Freycinet Charters & Maritime Services Pty Ltd
General operational Terms & Conditions
All Passengers who intend to proceed ashore into Freycinet National Park are required to hold a valid National Parks Pass – These can be purchased online or on-board; or, they can be obtained in person from the Freycinet National Park Visitors Centre ashore beforehand.
Tasmania’s weather can be quite unpredictable at times. Consequently, all ‘Beach Drop-offs’, ‘Beach Pick-ups’ and Personalised Charters are subject to weather conditions. Accordingly, we reserve the right to cancel your transfer service at any time if we conclude that the conditions exceed or operating limits; or, that the conditions or activities sought may endanger passengers.
Due to changeable and sometimes unpredictable weather conditions, sea states and the size of our vessel, all passengers need to be physically fit enough to walk back from their drop off point in Freycinet National Park to the Wineglass Bay Car Park (in Coles Bay) if we deem that the prevailing conditions are beyond our safe operating limits and our service is delayed or postponed for any reason. This means that all passengers proceeding ashore should do so only with appropriate footwear, clothing, maps, a mobile phone and adequate drinking water supplies, just in case.
While passenger details and full payment are required beforehand to secure your booking, there are times when it may be possible to just turn up, board and pay for your travel right there and then. We're sure you will understand that pre-paid passengers must take priority in these circumstances.
While we encourage passengers to bring their own equipment, you should note that passengers are solely responsible for the whereabouts, the loss of or damage to their own personal equipment.
Please be advised that although infants travel free of charge, a seat is not allocated to them individually. A dedicated seat for an Infant will need to be booked separately.
We advise and encourage all passengers to consider arranging appropriate travel insurance that covers 'Adventure Tourism', 'Eco-Tourism' or similar activities.
Passengers are required to be at any particular departure or pick-up point 10 minutes prior to scheduled departure or arrival.
We allow for a maximum of (one) 20kg Backpack or Bag per person – Excess baggage will attract a charge of $15 per equivalent item unless negotiated beforehand.
Passengers who wish to proceed ashore while travelling with Freycinet Charters will be required to be physically mobile and agile enough to board the vessel via a step or ladder from designated wharf facilities or from a beach. Passengers may also be required to step off or climb down from the vessel via a boarding ladder into water no deeper than waste-deep or onto the sand any particular drop-off point.
